Medical Assistant
At our community-focused office, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assist healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations.
Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome patients with empathy and respect
Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures
Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight
Record patients' medical history, symptoms, and other relevant information accurately
Prepare treatment rooms for patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and organization
Administer medications or injections under the supervision of healthcare professionals
Perform phlebotomy and handle specimens appropriately
Schedule appointments, manage medical records, and maintain confidentiality of patient information
Assist in coordinating referrals to specialists or other healthcare facilities
Provide compassionate emotional support to patients during their visit
Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring their availability when needed
Adhere to safety protocols and infection control guidelines at all times
Requirements:
Certification or diploma as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program
Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant is preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates passion for patient care
Familiarity with medical terminology and basic knowledge of anatomy is desirable
A compassionate demeanor with excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of diverse backgrounds
Able to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical record systems
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy
Willingness to collaborate and work as part of a team, supporting colleagues when needed, and also independently initiates tasks with confidence
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules within the healthcare facility
Able to work during Fourth Tree Health business hours, typically 0830-1700 M-F
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified
Able to pass child/criminal background checks
